Call for Submissions:
Anthology on Immigrant Experiences- “Tales of Transition”

Open call for contributions- Essays, Short stories, Poems, recipes, excerpts or art, for an upcoming anthology which seeks to amplify immigrant voices sharing their unique stories.​ This collection aims to explore the rich tapestry of immigrant experiences, highlighting the challenges, triumphs, successes and diverse cultural backgrounds which shape our communities.

 

Eligibility: I welcome participation from people of all backgrounds, particularly those who identify as immigrants or have personal connections to immigrant narratives.

 

Submission Guidelines:

I am accepting both essays and poetry. ( 150 to 2500 words)  Submissions may focus on personal reflections, cultural heritage, poignant memories, or any aspect of the immigrant journey;

Short Stories: Creative nonfiction that reflects on personal or broader themes of change.

 

Poems: Focusing on transformation or the transition experience.

 

Art: Visual representations that illustrate the essence of transition.

 

Recipes: Dishes that tell a story of change or cultural significance.

 

Formats: Preference of Times New Roman 12-point font and one-inch margins, however I am more concerned with the story than formatting.

 

Themes: Contributions can explore, but are not limited to:

 

  • The experience of leaving home and adapting to a new environment

  • Cultural identity and the complexities of belonging

  • Family stories and intergenerational perspectives

  • Triumphs, struggles, and contributions to society

  • Celebrating cultural traditions within a new context

 

Deadline: Please submit your work by April 25th 2025

 

How to Submit?

All submissions should be saved in a Word document or PDF. On the first page of the document, include your Name, Where you are from, your Contact information. 

Upload your contributions with the subject line “Anthology Submission - Your Name.”

 

 

 

 

 

* Everyone should include a brief contributor bio with your submission stating who you are, where you are from, what you do, and where your work has previously been published.

* We respect your privacy! If you prefer to protect your identity, please inform us of your preference for publication under a pseudonym (please include what this is in your submission) or if you prefer to be published anonymously.

* Don’t worry if you’ve never been published before. You may also use this opportunity to let readers know about causes you are actively involved with or hope to support through your writing.

* Offering to contribute does not guarantee inclusion in the anthology. Published contributors will receive credit for their submissions and will be offered a complimentary copy of the published anthology.

You should hear from me within a few weeks whether your work has been accepted.

If you do not hear from me by May 10th, 2025, assume your work has not been accepted for this anthology.

Accepted stories will be published in the anthology in Fall of 2025. 

Deadline to submit is April 25th, 2025, at midnight.
